August it has been all about perspective

Sorry for the lack of posts lately .  I spent the  last week in Lahinch Co.Clare taking a break from everything . Taking time to myself to recharge the batteries and to come back realizing what i value and the people i want to be surrounded by in the future . And for me that s Perspective.  But also a week spent in the sea surfing the waves is incredible .  When your surfing the waves , its only you , the surf board and the sea  . Nobody else . I think its so important to take time to understand what life is about.
You can work your whole life , earn as much money as you want day and day out , but those are not the memories we are left with when it comes towards the end of ones life . Its the memories we spend with our friends , our loved ones or are boyfriends / husbands that live with us . And i think that s one of the most important things to understand .
Life is not about working monday to friday , its way more than that. To see the world , to meet other people , other than people you work with daily or the industry that you are in. Its so important to go and learn beyond that. We stayed in a air BnB with our most lovely host Maire .  We really got to know her as a person and her life in Lahinch . But the last night we had a drink with her and her family and her son . I got to learn about somebody else beyond my circle. I got to experience the life of a pro surfer through the eyes of a guy who s life depends on it .
I also was lucky enough to experience the journey to the Aran Islands , where there are 3 islands however i went to the smallest which was Inis Orr . There is about just under 300 people that live on the island which is about a 20 minute boat trip from Doolin. NOW for me that is an experience that i wont get back . An experience that was truly inspiring and gave you the importance of life . We went on a horse on cart across the island . I saw beside a man who  has lived there his whole life . It was hard to  take that in . A small island that you can walk from either end among only 200 or so people . Only one shop and two cafes on the island and a restaurant which was in the back of someone s house with a menu on a white board at the gate was incredible. Not a tree in sight to give you shelter during the winter among that incredible breezy wind . With only a handful of cars on the island . The roads are only fit for one car so if you met someone it would be a disaster. And to learn that there was a primary school full of little kids on it was just perspective. Away from the real world , the noise of the traffic . And they even have their own mini airport which was amazing to see.
AND that is what i mean about learning about other peoples lives and taking interest on how other people live , but not even that,  also taking a moment to realize how lucky one is . Life is much more than work .
I will never forget you Lahinch . A place that holds some incredible memories in my heart. My story is not the same to anyone .  I went last year twice and coming back again this year was incredible . A few moments and journeys  i will never get back .

I will be back to normal next week modelling again some amazing new pieces in stock from The Picket Fence Boutique
