My tips and must have treatments for SKINCARE/ BLEMISHES

Today i want to talk about beauty and skin care - they go hand in hand with fashion and our own personal style, don 't you think?

I am OBSESSED with skincare!!  I am always on the hunt for the greatest and latest to try and minimise blemishes along with those rotten monthly breakouts and have a healthy, natural glow . I say it has taken about 7 years to find a regime that i am truly happy with. Now they say that your skin changes every 7 years, so i hope i can maintain it for a little bit!

I think i do have pretty normal skin , however i do suffer from a little bit of rosea and redness in areas and of course the oily t- zone . I do try to eat as healthy as possible but sadly have a great difficulty staying away from the lovely Dairy milk chocolate :(

THE PRODUCTS

#bareMinerals
I love, LOVE the bareMinerals line . They have been around for a while based in San Francisco , but are fairly new to us . bareMinerals have produced a line of skincare and makeup products that are only powered by mineral based ingredients . Check them out on  https://www.bareminerals.com/
I buy them at Sam Macaulay  Navan.

MY ROUTINE

At night and in the morning i use the bareMinerals Blemish Remedy Acne Treatment Gelee Cleanser, followed by the skin longevity vital power infusion serum and to finish up with the true oasis oil-free replenishing gel cream. This has been a great regime for me. During the summer to ensure i am always protected from the sun i wear the complexion rescue hydrating gel cream. This has a SPF 30 in it and the shade i use is the buttercream 03.

TIP 1:
First the cleanser. When cleaning my face (or applying serum), i never EVER use my hands. I find that no matter how well my hands are washed , bacteria still lies somewhere even if it is under the nail. So i will always use cotton pads ,even cheap ones from Primark i find very good to apply cleansers or serums etc.

TIP 2:
As tempting as it may be , don 't squeeze or try to pop those spots!! This will 100 percent damage your skin not only leaving redness but also scarring .

TIP 3:
MY FAVOURITE SPOT TREATMENT :
I have seen products ranging in price from a few euro to hundreds of euro that promise to make spots clear overnight and in fact this is nothing further from the truth . Possibly the only product or cream that has worked for me is a prescribed product from the doctor called Duac . Applying this to the individual spot will help dry it out quickly . I suggest that one uses it a night before bed as the skin can become a bit red at the beginning. Its a combination antibiotic and antiseptic cream . The active ingredient Benzoyl Peroxide which has an antibacterial and mild drying effect that allows excess oil and dirt to be washed away , and Clindamycin which is a antibiotic that prevents any bacteria growing around the affected skin .

TIP 4:
WHAT TO DO WITH A BLIND SPOT
I know we all have a slight temptation at times to squeeze our spots . I m not sure but it gives some satisfaction and helps one sleep better LOL
BUT if you must go down that road , for those spots that are red and painful and are underneath the skin wear you can feel them but not see them .My best advice or tip here is to get a tea bag and steam it in extremely hot water. Once this has been done , apply it to the spot and do this 3 times a day. This will draw the epic centre of the spot to the outer layer of your skin . Lastly apply the famous Duac at night and within 3 days it will have gone .

WHAT TO DO WITH A WHITEHEAD
Try the simple and one of my very effective tricks : use two cotton ear buds dipped in a cleanser or antiseptic cream , and squeeze the spot with each end of the two ear buds. Why i use these is because by using ones hand we are allowing the bacteria to spread under the skin and eventually within 3 days there will be a lovely new spot beside that one . However with the ear buds this can not happen .

TIP 5:
Change your pillow case every 2 to 3 evenings a week. YES I KNOW i have gone mad but its essential.

MY MUST HAVES

Serums
Since i have started using the bareMinerals serum i have had, without question fewer breakouts. Before i used to be scared of them because i thought they were adding more oil into your skin. Instead they help repair the skin, allowing it to produce that all elixir of youth, collagen.

Moisturisers
Its one of my morning and night rituals to use the bareMinerals moisturiser, especially the fact that it is oil free . Its light and non greasy . Peptides enhances resilience and diminishes the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Again i have no relationship with bareMinerals . I just wanted share my skin care routine and give people who suffer from blemishes my honest honest opinion on what works best!
